Dr. Kirk Prine is a traditional teaching Reiki Master. His lineage follows the Dr. Mikao Usui tradition of Natural Healing and dates back to 1986. Dr. Prine was attuned by Doug Fagan, TRM (Traditional Reiki Master) and sound healer; Jeffrey Martin, TRM (in both the Usui lineage and Barbara Ray lineage); and Nancy Lard, TRM.

Since 1996, Dr. Prine has instructed and attuned many individuals to Reiki levels I and II. In addition, he has instructed and attuned 10 People to Level III (Master) and 4 people to Level IV (Teaching Master). Over 1200 people have experienced the benefits of Reiki clinics set up by Dr. Prine and facilitated by Flesh and Spirit Community staff.

Donny Lobree is a 1 st level Reiki Channel and sound healer He was attuned by Fran Brown who was attuned by Hawayo Takata.

Energy Medicine is a one year training experience, equipping queer men to call forth their healing abilities.

Over the one-year period, this course will include:

  • 5 Four hour modules
  • 4 Community clinic/practicum evening sessions
  • 3 Attunements in Reiki levels I, II and III (Level III is Master Level, non-teaching)

 

This training course will help queer men deepen their skills in healing and intuition.
Energy medicine will be explored using the following principles and practices:

  • Reiki I, II and III
  • Laying on of hands
  • Hypnosis
  • Relaxation Techniques
  • Breathwork and Rebirthing
  • Erotic Touch and the Exploration of Boundaries
  • Healing Rituals and Gestalt Body Dialogue

This training opportunity is especially beneficial to gay/bisexual men who are healing arts professionals, helping professionals, erotic/spiritual practitioners, or exploring the integration of body, mind and spirit as a "calling".

Instructor: Dr. Kirk Prine, CMT

Dr. Kirk Prine, CMT is an integrative bodyworker and Reiki Master. His work focuses on massage, bodywork and experiential workshops that promote sexual/spiritual integration, healing and recovery, and stress reduction.

Dr. Prine has a BA in Theology, with a focus on healing practices across many spiritual traditions; a M.Ed., and Ed.D. in counseling, specializing in behavioral medicine, sexuality and group work; and a CMT with training in Swedish/Esalen massage, Jin Shin Do acupressure, rebirthing, Deep Tissue massage, Amma (a Japanese massage therapy), bodywork for people facing life threatening illness, and sexual healing work as a sacred intimate. Dr. Prine is trained in energy work, emphasizing therapeutic touch, and attuned as a Traditional Reiki Master.

Prior to practicing in the Bay Area, Dr. Prine spent 17 years a psychotherapist. During that time he was the co-director of the Healing and Recovery Workshops, Inc., where he co-facilitated weekly groups on alternative healing and complimentary therapies. For six years he served as adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati, teaching complimentary therapies as they relate to HIV. Dr. Prine served on the faculty of the East Central AIDS Education and Training Center.

As an integrative bodyworker, Dr. Prine has pioneered new models for erotic spiritual practice. His practice has empowered many queer men to be lovers of their bodies and souls, and to create intentional erotic and spiritual community through body-mind-spirit integration. The call for queer men's community now has developed into Flesh & Spirit Community.
